On January 24, 2025, Adilang Vocational Training Institute hosted its 3rd Graduation Ceremony, at the school campus in Adilang marking yet another milestone in its mission to empower the youth through skills training. Under the theme “Unlocking Potential Among the Young Generation Through Skills Training,” the ceremony was a reflection of the transformative power of education and hands-on learning.

Among the distinguished guests were students, department heads and instructors, parents, and special visitors from Germany, whose presence added an international touch to the occasion. The event also featured the blessing of the new Technology Block.

The event was graced by the Deputy Resident City Commissioner of Gulu City, Mr. Wilbert Opio, who delivered an inspiring address.  His message, along with those from the Local Council leaders and DPFL Director, Eng. Obwor Emmanuel emphasized the importance of utilizing acquired skills to drive personal and community development.

This year’s graduation saw 30 students receive their certificates across three key disciplines: Agriculture, Technology & Design, and Domestic Science. Their achievements were met with joy and pride from their parents and loved ones, who had gathered to witness this remarkable step in their children’s educational journey.

On the extravaganza side, no AVTI celebration would be complete without a showcase of rich Acholi cultural heritage. The audience was treated to vibrant performances of Dingi Dingi and Laraka Raka, traditional dances.

To cap off the celebrations, the graduates and attendees enjoyed a friendly football match featuring two teams from Adilang.  As the sun set on this momentous day, AVTI reaffirmed its commitment to skills development and youth empowerment Congratulations to the AVTI Class of 2024!
